COLLEGE INTERNSHIP

United Way of Greater Nashua is a nonprofit organization helping their community by tackling core issues in New Hampshire underprivileged population. There are United Way chapters all over the world doing the most they can to help people in need locally.  Through volunteers or donations, they help with health, education, and economic mobility. As a graphic designer at United Way of Greater Nashua, I created promotional materials for many events to help the community. I used Adobe InDesign mostly for the layouts and Adobe Illustrator for the design elements. In many aspects of the job, I had to send professional emails for feedback, task finding, and finalizing projects. Email wasn’t the only way me and my supervisor, Sara Ceaser, communicated. Every week we meet on Zoom to talk about work and what needed to be done. For one of my last projects, I went to Nashua to drop off mini cornhole boards I painted as prizes for a tournament they hold every year. While at the United Way office, I was able to meet new people on the United Wat of Greater Nashua team and tour the facility.

I enjoyed working with Sara at United Way of Greater Nashua. My experience and skills I have learned from my time there will be with me for years to come as I graduate next spring. From professional emails, logo design, social media, to people skills, I can’t wait for what's next. The work that has come out of my internship was rewarding as well as gratifying.
